Manufacturing
1,527 km. A 100% European supply chain. Zero unsold pieces.
No mystery about origin. From the Illustrator sketch to the suit delivered to your door, every step is documented, every workshop can be visited.
Why made-to-order?
Because textile overproduction is the norm, and we chose not to follow it. Every year, millions of unsold garments end up in landfills, incinerated, or shipped abroad to countries that don't want them anymore. We refused that model from the start.
When you order a UVEA, we start production. Not before. Your garment leaves the workshop within a week. For delivery, two options: La Poste tracked (allow about a week, sometimes a bit more depending on the parcel — we send you the tracking number) or DHL Express (3 working days, more expensive but guaranteed). Zero dormant stock, zero end-of-season landfill, zero unsold burned to make room for next season's collection.
Step 1 — Roubaix, France
Design and art direction
Every pattern, every cut, every palette is designed in Roubaix, in our offices. Illustrator, good old graph paper, and in-store tests on the kids passing by. Nothing goes into production without having been worn.
Step 2 — Northern Italy (~1,050 km)
High-performance Italian fabrics
Our textiles are woven in Northern Italy, the historic European region for technical textiles. UV protection intrinsic to the fibre, 80-wash durability certified, fabrics made from recycled plastic (abandoned fishing nets, bottles) — GRS and OEKO-TEX certified.
No surface UV treatment that wears off with washing. The protection is in the yarn, forever.
Step 3 — UVEA workshop
Sublimation printing, our machines
Pattern printing is done on our own machines, which we own. No opaque subcontracting.
TS300P-1800 — high-definition digital sublimation
Antonio 180T — transfer calender for technical fabrics
solvent-based chemical inks — water sublimation, paper recycling
Step 4 — Bulgaria, European Union (~1,527 km total)
Final garment construction in the EU
Cutting, sewing, quality control, labelling, shipping. Our partner workshop in Bulgaria works exclusively with us on our technical models. Wages and conditions aligned with European labour law — which is far from given in textile manufacturing.
We have visited this workshop, we know who sews each garment. If you want, we can tell you.
